Dr Luke Heslop is an Anthropologist and Research Fellow at the University of Edinburgh, UK. He has lived and worked in South Asia for over a decade and has worked specifically on issues of development in the Maldives since September 2015. In the Maldives, Dr Heslop works with private sector developers, consultants, and local government across the archipelago. He also has experience working with Maldivian political-diasporas in exile, in Colombo and London. Through this exposure, Dr Heslop has knowledge of the political situation in the Maldives and the risks people currently face.
