Dr Andreia Sofia Pinto Oliveira is a professor of law at the University of Minho in Portugal and has been involved in asylum issues since 2000. She has written several articles published in national and international journals and a book, the Right to asylum as a fundamental right. In 2010 and 2011 she worked as a Consultant for UNHCR for the purposes of the Further Developing Asylum Quality Project.
